PLEASE BARE WITH THE OLD WHO GUY WHO HAS BEEN GIVEN SOCIAL MEDIA

Published on 13 November 2024 at 22:35

I do not know a lot about Face Gram and Insta Snap and those sorts of things, but my publisher has foisted this on me so it looks like we all get to learn together!

One of my new obligations is to maintain a blog to keep fans up to date on all things related to RJC Outdoors, as well as current happenings in the outdoor world. My publisher asked if I could maintain a once-a-day schedule for posting. In response, I laughed coffee out my nose and suggested a once-a-year posting. They countered with a bi-weekly offering, which I found too ambiguous. Twice a week, every other week, what does it mean? Who can tell? In the end we compromised on the equally ambiguous tri-monthly. They're expecting three posts a month. Won't they be surprised when I post once every three months! Shhh, that's just between us, LOL.

By way of introduction, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Douglas M. Berdan. I am a husband, father, veteran and outdoorsman. The order changes by the day, depending on what is needed of me, but the importance of all four has been instrumental in making me the man I am today. While my writing focuses primarily on being an outdoorsman, you will find bits of the other three cropping up here and there (and perhaps more often than that). I got my start as a newspaper columnist and my love of the great outdoors lead me to continue writing, authoring the books available now and in the coming years.

RJC Outdoors is the place to find all my writing. My national newspaper columns will be shared periodically on the website. My blog will be published here and on social media. All paperback and hardcover books will be available here as well, and some special editions which will be exclusive to the website. Whether you are looking for the humor of Remington J. Crockett, the wisdom and love for the outdoor world of Douglas M. Berdan, or a combination of both, this is the place to find it. I look forward to many happy years of sharing with you my enjoyment for the natural world around us!
